SIJECT 16/16DP is Siemens' modular complete control system for quick and simple setup of individualized automation solutions for injection molding machines and extrusion systems of almost every kind and size.

Another application area is in low-cost retrofitting of older machines.

The SIJECT control system offers simple startup coupled with a high degree of flexibility in adapting to the machine.

SIJECT 16 comprises different components:

• An operator panel
  e.g. SIJECT OP 15
  or a
  SIMATIC panel (e.g. OP 170B, TP 270B, MP 270, MP 370) and an additional keyboard
• A Compact Interface (CI board)
  CI 16 (= S7 300 CPU 314)
  or
  CI 16DP (= S7 300 CPU 315-2)

Standard hardware and software

Thanks to the SIMATIC-based hardware for the Compact Interfaces (CI 16 and CI 16 DP), SIJECT can be programmed, parameterized, and configured with the globally familiar SIMATIC Manager and Standard STEP 7.

The SIMATIC OPs can be adapted to customer requirements just as easily with the standard HMI software ProTool.

This makes the PLC program and the panel interface open to every application.

Openness and expandability

Both SIJECT 16s can be combined with other SIMATIC operator panels via the MPI interface.

They can be expanded simply and at low cost with standard S7-300 I/O modules via the integral SIMATIC I/O bus interface.

The CI 16 DP also has a PROFIBUS interface, allowing it to be integrated into distributed control structures.

Flexibility

Customers can adapt their applications quickly and simply to the relevant machine functions.

As well as being used in new machines, SIJECT is also an ideal system for modernizing and retrofitting injection molding machines thanks to its openness, expandability, and flexibility.

The SIJECT OP 15 is programmed with fixed functionality and contains the languages Chinese, English, and German.

• CI 16 (based on a CPU 315 DP)

a special additional keyboard with technological keys

• Keyboard basic SIJECT IM
• Keyboard advanced SIJECT IM

The HMI interfaces on the SIMATIC OPs (e.g. OP 170B, TP 270B, MP 270, MP 370) can be configured with ProTool.
This means the operator interface can be adapted flexibly to any application.

The technology keyboards have all the keys necessary for operating the injection molding machine. They can be ordered through our Solution Provider Elkom.

A complete software package with application examples and technology programs has been put together on CD for simple and fast startup.

The CD contains a complete package for controlling and visualizing a standard injection molding machine with hydraulic drives.

The PLC user programs are tested application examples for

• open-loop-controlled machines and
• closed-loop-controlled machines

These programs are the basis for the customized machine program and are designed to make startup easier.

Machine-specific adaptations are usually required.

Open-loop version

STEP 7 program for open-loop-controlled injection molding machines in conjunction with OP 15 or OP 170B with the following technological functions:

• Injection control, dwell pressure control, and proportioning control with 4-level profiles
• Switching point via time, path
• Tool function with 4-level profile
• Analysis function with 2-level profile

Closed-loop version

Technology program for closed-loop-controlled injection molding machines in conjunction with MP/TP 270/370 with the following technological functions:

• Injection control, dwell pressure control, and proportioning control with 10-level profiles
• Switching point via time, path, or pressure
• Tool function with up to 16-level profile
• Analysis function with 4-level profile
• Curve graphic and quality functions
• Injection and proportioning work
• Machine sequence
• Temperature control

The SIJECT applications CDs contain all the PLC programs in STEP 7 and the operator interfaces in ProTool (complete with source code and documentation).

These programs are the basis for the customized machine program and are designed to make startup easier.

Machine-specific adaptations are usually required.
