The sealing station for the lengthwise seam handles film transport; the film must be synchronized exactly with the goods being packaged. The printed marking synchronization accelerates or delays the film such that it moves at the same rate as the goods transported for packaging along the feed conveyor.

In order to achieve a continuous packaging process, the cross-sealing station must "travel with" the line. That means the cross-sealing station is initially accelerated to the speed of the product. The sealing jaws are then closed and are opened after the sealing time has expired. The station is then returned to the starting position.
