The HS 716 heater control system has been developed as a cost-optimized controller of radiation device panels in thermoforming machines The HS 716 is suitable for all generally available radiation devices such as quartz and quartz material radiation devices, ceramic, halogen and infrared radiation devices.

The HS 716 heater control system can be used wherever low-cost resistive loads of small to medium output require switching in the industrial environment.

The HS 716 heater control system is used, for example, to switch the radiation devices of small and medium outputs in heating panels of thermoforming machines, blow molding machines, plastics welding machines, drying ovens and other applications.

The HS 716 is a distributed I/O unit (slave) that communicates over the PROFIBUS DP fieldbus with a higher-level control system (master) such as SIMATIC S7/SIMOTION.

The essential component parts of the HS 716 heater control system are:

  • 19"-rack with bus board for inserting up to 12 power modules as well as a switching module and CPU module on the rear of the rack
  • Power modules in double-height Eurocard format with 16 output channels
  • Fan unit with 3 fans (option)
  • Communication over PROFIBUS DP, e.g. with SIMOTION, SIMATC S7, or industrial PC
  • Plug-in card system open at the front
