Open for PROFIBUS DPThe 8-channel temperature controller KS 800 DP can be connected to PROFIBUS DP. This further reduces wiring requirements for use with several spatially distributed modules. The functions 'define setpoint' and 'read process value' are possible via PROFIBUS DP. Full parameterization via PROFIBUS DP is in preparation. The KS 800 offers all you need for controlling!Highlights of the modules include the different freely selectable functions for each individual control loop, making it particularly suitable for temperature control for plastics processing machines, dryers, packaging machines, tool tempering systems, etc. Functions such as 'start-up circuit' and 'output hold' are specially suited for hot runner control with its many adjacent zones. Thanks to the integrated heating current detection with 'heating current alarm' and 'leakage current monitoring', there is no need to install additional elements in all zones. All 8 heating systems can be monitored with just one external current converter. The 'setpoint gradient' function facilitates the start-up of larger plant parts such as calenders, co-extruders, sheet dies, etc. A second setpoint with ramp function saves energy during production breaks. Measuring circuit monitoring routines and alarm functions with 4 limiting values allow individual process monitoring. The control functions range from a simple signaling device through devices with two-point or three-point action for heating and cooling, to motor stepper controllers for control valves. A 'cascade controller' can also be configured; its output is used proportionally for the slave controllers. As an option, 'water cooling' (pulses for evaporation energy) can be activated. New for extrusion plants:For connecting inertial pressure transducers, one variant of the KS 800 now has the prerequisite precise voltage supply of the sensor (10 V ±0.2%) for this purpose, as well as the relay required for 80% calibration. Controlling without worrying about parametersEach measuring circuit can be activated or disabled for self-tuning. The optimum parameters are determined for inert feed zones, fast hot runners, and even for densely arranged, strong coupling control zones, allowing overshoot-free, fast start-up and setpoint hold without permanent control deviation. All inputs and outputs: On-boardAll the necessary digital outputs for the output values (optocouplers) and alarms, as well as additional digital inputs-for example, for direct deactivation-and direct sensor connectors (all current thermocouple types, Pt 100 in 3/2 linear input, direct voltage) are located on the KS 800 module. With major system changes, switchover to a second set of parameters can be triggered by an external signal. Short leads don't just save money! The KS 800 is a fully autonomous multiple controller for distributed use on machine modules with the same ground. These temperature controllers can be installed in close proximity to the heating zones on extrusion installations and injection moulding machines, providing a considerable shortening of the thermocouple equalizing leads, even on small machines. The total installation costs are dramatically reduced by this distributed concentration of the sensors, actuators (solid-state relays, contactors) and monitoring elements (e.g. heating current monitoring). Via the PROFIBUS, the machine manufacturer builds the entire installation out of fully-functioning single modules. Even large installations are easy to understand for the on-site service. A word to the mechanicsThe 8 controllers are encased in a particularly compact housing. The new multiple controller features user-friendly, modular terminal casing and is clipped onto 'top-hat' DIN rails. The screw terminals are for simple direct wiring of the sensors. No connection blocks are required as the reference junction temperature for the thermocouple connection is measured directly there. For connecting, you can choose from clip-on screw terminal strips or a screwless spring-clamp connection. All actuators are connected via optocouplers. The KS 800 integrated power supply requires an output voltage of 18 V to 31 V DC. Of course, the KS 800 controller complies with all EMC requirements according to the relevant IEC, ENV and EN regulations and has CE marking. The KS 800 is now optimally equipped for the North-American market with UL approval. Operation remains transparentAn additional serial interface is provided for connecting the Engineering Tool, which runs on a PC under Windows, to the KS 800. It is used for configuration, parameter setting and operation of the multiple controller. Access via PROFIBUS now even more user-friendlyAs well as the selection of fixed data models for cyclic transfer to the I/O area of the S7, it is now possible to use the KS 800 engineering tool to individually select exactly the KS 800 process data or parameters that are to be written to or read cyclically. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Область примененияThe microprocessor-controlled KS 800 ensures precise, low-cost multi-loop control of temperature, and features a bus or field bus. Standard functions such as 'setpoint lowering' and 'heating/cooling with four alarms' make the KS 800 ideally suited for temperature control of plastics processing machines, tools, packaging machines, tempering units and other similar thermal processes. Furthermore, with high-power heating elements (e. g. in hot-runner moulds), the selectable functions 'output hold' in case of sensor break, and 'start-up circuit' ensure increased element life and prevent interruptions during production. The self-tuning feature guarantees very short start-up times.
